AlpVision plans expansion into other sectors in 2012
03-Feb-2012
Digital authentication specialist
AlpVision has said its revenues increased by 10 per cent in 2011,
suggesting that brand owners are continuing to invest in security
features for the their product despite the tough financial
climate.
While the privately-held firm does not disclose financial figures,
it has also pointed to "solid" growth in its earnings before
interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for the
year, positioning it for an expansion beyond its traditional focus
on the pharmaceutical and tobacco industries in 2012.
The past year was notable for three accomplishments, including the
roll-out of its digital imaging-based Fingerprint technology for
customers in the pharmaceutical industry, including Debiopharm (see
also AlpVision
signs two more pharma customers).
2011 also saw the company launch a portable quality control device
that gives packaging printers and converters a simple way of
detecting the presence of its Cryptoglyph invisible marking
technology, and an iPhone4 app for moulded part identification.
Meanwhile, AlpVision's head of corporate communications Roland
Meylan has retired after six and a half year's service. All of us
at SecuringPharma wish him all the best for the future,
and extend a warm welcome to Jennifer Yribar, who will succeed
Roland in the role.
