Pfizer advert shows man regurgitating rat

Pfizer has sponsored a hard-hitting video to draw attention to the problem of counterfeit medicines, particularly those purchased over the internet.

The advert, which features a man taking a tablet them regurgitating a rat, was prepared in response to research which found one in 10 men in the UK purchase prescription-only medicines from unregulated sources such as internet sites, every year.

It is estimated that between 50-90 per cent of medicines sold in this way have proven to be counterfeit which means those using the internet to source medicines are taking a real gamble with their health.
