TruScan now available in German, Chinese

Ahura Scientific has added German and Chinese language support for its TruScan analytical instrument, a handheld Raman spectrometer used for pharmaceutical quality control and anti-counterfeiting purposes.
In a statement, Ahura Scientific said the new version - TruScan 1.3.0 - will help expand its customer base in China, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
TruScan can be used to identify and authenticate active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) as well as finished products, and having a Chinese version is considered particularly important because China is one of the biggest API suppliers worldwide.
"The upcoming Chinese Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidance is expected to closely follow the European and American models for pharmaceutical manufacturing and will significantly affect the procedures Chinese pharmaceutical companies use to manufacture their products," said Doug Kahn, Ahura Scientific's CEO.
He said the firm had also opened a new sales and customer support office in Shanghai to help serve the market.
